Baccarat rules
Baccarat is usually a comparison game: two hands are dealt, and the hand closest to nine wins under the table’s drawing rules.
The basic choices
Common baccarat tables offer bets on the Player hand, Banker hand or a Tie. The terms Player and Banker label the two hands; they do not describe the person at the table. Cards are valued differently from many other games: tens and face cards commonly count as zero, and totals use the final digit.
Drawing rules
Whether another card is drawn is normally governed by fixed table rules. Players do not generally decide when either hand takes a third card. Check the game’s displayed rules for the exact procedure and payout terms.
Probability and payouts
A higher displayed payout can correspond with a lower probability of winning. The house edge varies by bet type and table terms. No betting sequence changes the independent nature of future rounds.
