Pokies volatility explained
Volatility describes how a game’s payouts may be distributed over time. It does not make an outcome predictable and does not remove the risk of losing money.
Low and high volatility
Lower-volatility games may tend to show smaller payouts more often, while higher-volatility games may have fewer payouts but larger possible amounts. These are broad long-run descriptions, and any individual session can still have no return.
Volatility and risk
Higher volatility can mean longer losing periods before a payout occurs, increasing the temptation to spend more or chase losses. A larger advertised maximum win does not make it more likely to occur.
Keep expectations realistic
There is no setting or staking pattern that turns a random game into a reliable income source. If you notice that you are increasing stakes to make up for losses, stop and take a break.
